My Personal Crest

This is my English project. We had to make a personal crest, inspired by the crests/family crests of Medieval times. We're reading "The Canterbury Tales" by Geoffrey Chaucer (squee!!!) and "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight".

The symbols:
- Phoenixes: Resurrection. I've been in the hospital 13 times, nearly died 5 times, and HAVE died once. O.o
- Deer: One who won't fight unless provoked.
- Ivy leaves: Strong and lasting friendship.
- Lozenge (aka the yellow diamonds on the shield): Constancy.*
- Shamrocks: Irish AND perpetuity.*
- "Diligo vita" is Latin for "Love life".
- The color green: Hope, joy, loyalty in love.
- The color Yellow: Generosity.
- The color black: Constancy (again?) AND grief.

* Get it? Perpetuity = to go on and on. Plus constancy. "To forever go on and on." HA! I do rant a lot. Sot the symbols have that slightly humorous double meaning.

All of the symbols apply to me well.
